10 Claude Cowork Plugins
+ How to Install Them
A step-by-step install walkthrough for each plugin, plus the exact use case I reach for every time. Five minutes to set up. Hours back every week.
What is a Cowork plugin?
Claude has two modes: Chat (general AI assistant) and Cowork (task-specific AI worker). A plugin turns Claude's Cowork mode into a specialist — install the Sales plugin and it knows how to prospect, draft outreach, and manage a pipeline. Install Finance and it knows bookkeeping.
Install it once. It's available in every Cowork conversation from then on. The 10 plugins below are free. Most business owners have never heard of them.
How to install a plugin in 60 seconds
Go to claude.ai in your browser, or open the Claude desktop app if you've downloaded it.
In the top navigation, click Cowork to switch into the Cowork interface. This is where plugins live.
Click Customize in the top-left corner of the Cowork interface.
Click Browse plugins. You'll see the full plugin library — built by Anthropic and third-party developers.
Find the plugin you want and click Install. It takes about 3 seconds. The plugin is now live in every Cowork chat you open.
Go back to Browse plugins and install each one on this list. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes and you never have to do it again.
Tip: Some plugins (like Small Business) ask you to connect tools like QuickBooks or Google Calendar during setup. You don't have to connect everything on day one — the plugin still works without integrations, just with less context.
All 10 plugins —
and how I use each one
The plugin description tells you what it does. The use case tells you what to actually ask it.
Productivity
↓ 2.3MWakes up to a morning brief pulled from overnight messages. Preps every meeting with the right context. Creates tasks straight from threads.
Every Monday morning I open Claude and ask it to pull all unread emails, calendar events, and outstanding tasks, then give me a prioritised action list for the week. Takes 30 seconds. Used to take an hour with coffee.
Enterprise Search
↓ 1.6MOne query searches Gmail, Slack, Notion, Drive, and Asana simultaneously. Finds the thing in 2 seconds.
When a client mentions a conversation from three months ago and I can't find it — I just type it in plain English. "Find the quote we sent Johnson HVAC in March." Done. No more opening six tabs.
Sales
↓ 1.8MResearches prospects, drafts follow-ups, flags deals stuck in your pipeline, and builds competitive battlecards.
Before every discovery call, I ask Claude to research the prospect's business, find any recent news, and draft 3 sharp opening questions based on what it finds. I walk into every call looking like I did hours of prep. I did about 4 minutes.
Marketing
↓ 2.1MDrafts content in your brand voice, plans campaigns, runs competitive briefs, and pulls performance numbers across channels.
I record a 5-minute voice note about a client result — a real story, in my own words. Then I ask Claude to turn it into a LinkedIn post, a short email, and a case study summary. Three pieces of content from one voice note.
Brand Voice
↓ 1.7MEnforces a consistent brand voice across every piece of content. Social posts, emails, sales pages, long-form. All on-brand.
I installed this once and uploaded my tone-of-voice document. Now every piece of content Claude generates sounds like me — not like a corporate press release. The difference before and after is significant.
Claude Design
↓ 2.3MTurns a prompt or rough brief into polished design systems, slide decks, interactive prototypes, or one-pagers. Production-ready in minutes.
When a prospect asks for a proposal, I describe the client's situation and what I'd build for them, and ask Claude to produce a clean one-pager. What used to take 2 hours in Canva now takes about 10 minutes.
Finance
↓ 1.9MPreps journal entries, reconciles accounts, generates financial statements, and runs variance analysis.
At the end of every month I upload the bank statement and my invoicing report and ask Claude to reconcile the numbers and flag anything that doesn't line up. Catches things I'd miss at 9pm on a Friday.
Legal
↓ 1.8MReads contracts and NDAs. Flags risk in green, yellow, and red. Surfaces clauses that need human review and separates them from boilerplate.
Every time a new client sends their own agreement instead of mine, I paste it in and ask Claude to flag every clause that is unusual, risky, or needs a lawyer's eye. It gives me a colour-coded breakdown in about 60 seconds.
Human Resources
↓ 1.6MStreamlines recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, compensation analysis, and policy management.
When I need to bring someone in, I describe the role, the type of person I'm looking for, and the things that would rule someone out immediately. Claude writes the job ad. It filters the right candidates in and the wrong ones out.
Small Business
↓ 987K15 pre-built skills. Plans payroll, chases invoices, closes the month, runs full marketing campaigns, and triages leads. Connects to QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, and your Google or Microsoft suite.
This is the one I use every single day. Monday morning: ask Claude for a weekly priorities list based on open pipeline, invoicing due, and outstanding content. Friday afternoon: ask it to draft a summary of what got done and what carries over. My whole week runs through this.
